Convention information

Why should I attend?

This is your chance as a member of the Libertarian Party of Canada to shape the direction of the party before the next scheduled election in 2025. It is also your opportunity to come forward and run for an open position on the Executive. We will be electing a new Leader, Deputy Leader, Board Members, and Ethics Committee members.

We plan to discussions for in-person attendees. Possible topics include Platform Development, Candidate Orientation, Media Outreach, and Party Strategy. We have also confirmed the following speaker:

  • Andrew Lawton, Journalist for True North News and host of The Andrew Lawton Show.

NEW! Tentative program is now available.

  • Motions submitted by members and supporting documents are now available.
  • Read Gene Balfour's ideas about the Libertarian brand ahead of our discussion on Saturday.

Dates and Location

The convention will be held at the London Chamber of Commerce in London, Ontario on September 30th and October 1st.

Pricing

The cost for the 2-day event is $99. This includes light refreshments and meals will be on you own. The cost of the convention is treated as a donation and tax receipts will be provided next February.

We are also offering a proxy vote option for $10. You can choose a proxy or we will appoint a member who will be attending in person to vote for you. More details to come.

Flights and Accommodations

We understand that many of our members have been negatively impacted by the financial realities that our current government has imposed on us. Currently flights and accommodations are much more expensive than we've seen in the past, though there are discount airlines flying into London from across the country. Accommodations are available around the London Chamber of Commerce and further out near the 401 highway. We will end the convention by 3:00 on Sunday to give those travelling from outside London time to fly or drive home that evening.
